September 2008

The Educo Youth Leadership Program for Jr. High Youth has its kick off today at LJH! Students at LJH can participate in an after-school academic and adventure mentoring program during the fall and winter quarters.

Students who participate in after school “schoolwork support” can be eligible to participate in Educo’s outdoor activities, games, adventure activities and get to experience hiking, rock climbing and camping!
It’s going to be a great fall!
To find out more, contact Educo Leadership Adventures!

Educo Leadership Adventures and REI in Fort Collins is partnering up to offer an evening of activities and skills in order for parents and kids to enjoy the outdoors together! It’s interactive and gets parents to join in the fun!

This is the 3rd of a 3 part series on getting kids outside enjoying all the benefits of nature.

Join us tonight at 6pm at the Lee Martinez Park Pavillion. Families are welcome! Please register with Silas at REI @ 223-0123.
See you there!

Although summer is nearly over and kids are back in school, Educo is still busy! Educo’s after school program at Lincoln Junior High (Educo Youth Leadership) begins soon and students get a chance to get outdoors, have some fun, and then get some help with homework!

This fall, the students are getting a special boost in program support thanks to a community grant from REI. Students will get to use the skills they are learning in an overnight campout and get a chance to really engage in service-learning and environmental education!
We are so excited for the success of this program. Did you know this spring, students who participated in the Educo leadership adventure program improved in reading and math skills!
